Dreamy landscapes, ancient castles, cute towns, and cozy pubs. What more could a person want? Ireland is full of wonder , and not only that it is one of the best cities to travel as a solo female traveler.
Day 1: Dublin
After settling into your hotel, take a free walking tour of Dublin. If you are short on time, do the southside tour, but if possible, you should see both parts. The southside Dublin tour consists of the famous temple district, Trinity College, Dublin Castle, Christ Church Cathedral, and St Patrick’s Cathedral.
On the free tour you will get in-depth knowledge about the history and significance associated with these places, but afterwards you may feel the need to go explore the sites further. For example, you should go see the Book of Kells at Trinity College. The Book of Kells is an illustrated medieval manuscript that contains the 4 Gospels of Christ. The artwork and lettering contained in it is intricate and unique. You will need to book a time slot to see it on this website.
The north side consists of Garden of Remembrance, Moore Street Market, Custom House, and the General Post Office. These sites are all associated with the independence movement and the 1916 rebellion.

Guiness Storehouse and Temple Bar District
It is not a trip to Ireland without tasting Guiness. Take a tour of the Storehouse and see how they create their famous blend. A drink is included with the ticket price.
That night you should go pub hopping in the Temple Light district. The pubs usually have live music and comfort food galore.
Day 2: Cliffs of Moher, Wild Atlantic Way, and Galway
Driving the Wild Atlantic Way provides jaw dropping sites, ancient castles, and open green fields full of horses, sheep, and cows. Your first major stop will be the Cliffs of Moher. The waves crash into the cliff, the wind whips through your hair, and you will see many white birds building their nests in the orifices of the great cliffs.
You will stop in the cute town of Galway and have time to explore what it has to offer. The Kings Head Bistro is a historical pub that is known to be the house of the man that executed King Charles I. This pub is known for their delicious seafood.
If you are a fan of icecream, stop at Murphy’s. They have original flavors such as Irish Brown Bread, Dingle Sea Salt, and Irish Coffee. If that is not your thing, they offer the traditional flavors as well.
The tour company I chose to meet up with is called Wild Rover Tours. I booked their Cliffs of Moher tour and their Northern Ireland one.

When you arrive back in Dublin, you should check out Celtic Nights in Arlington Hotel. They offer traditional music, dancing, a 3-course meal, and beer.

Day 3: Northern Ireland/ Belfast
You must see Northern Ireland which is actually a part of the UK. My tour took us straight to Belfast and we had to pick between 2 activities. The first option is the political taxi tour. The taxi guide takes you all around Belfast and explains the politics and conflict associated between the Irish and British. You visit murals that depict different social problems and you can sign the peace wall.
The second option is going to the Titanic Museum.
After exploring Belfast, your bus heads to the Giants Causeway. It is about an hour hike to the causeway, but if you are unable to hike, they offer a shuttle service. Legend has it that the causeway was created by 2 giants battling. One on the coast of Northern Ireland and the other one on the coast of Scotland. The one in Ireland, named Finn, started throwing rocks to make a pathway to the other coast, but once he was there, he found out that other giant was bigger than him, so he ran back home. His wife was able to disguise him as a baby. When the giant of Scotland came over and saw how big the baby was, he feared how big his father was, so he ran back across destroying most of the pathway.
The science behind the formations actually have to do with a volcanic eruption many years ago. I like to believe in the legend though.
Ireland is a must visit in one’s lifetime and hopefully this guide enables you to plan your trip more smoothly here.
